Pangea

There once was a little girl
who lost her home.

She lived in so many worlds
she got all dizzy and trippy
and centipedes and spiders
of the city whispered,
“wow, that’s a lot of feet!”

She never stayed for long.

The whisper of belonging
tugged at her sleeves,
pushed her, here, there-
around and around,
around the round-

until her life became a circle,
and the circle became her life.

And the spiders said:
“Remember that little girl?
The dizzy one, so trippy,
singing and stumbling through the city?
That girl of wind—where did she go?”

But the circle stayed silent.

Only it knew
she’d be back—
back by the circle
somewhere, just around.
